While Metro Manila residents are awaiting the final decision on whether the National Capital Region will be placed under modified general community quarantine or MGCQ in March 2021, here’s some welcome news for families craving the outdoors: minors and seniors are again welcome in Bonifacio High Street’s (BHS) open park areas.

“We now welcome seniors and supervised minors to walk, stroll, engage in non-contact exercise, and access essential services in the BHS open park areas. However, indoor and alfresco dining are still under review by the Taguig LGU in relation to IATF (Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases) and DTI (Department of Trade and Industry) protocols,” the announcement read.

They also stressed that kids and seniors are not allowed to dine-in the restaurants or any of the outdoor areas just yet. This is in accordance with IATF and DTI protocols.
Face masks and face shields are required for everyone and social distancing must be observed at all times. Bonifacio High Street also said it will enforce strict safety measures to ensure that the parks will not be crowded by visitors.
“To ensure proper implementation of social distancing, BGC Management reserves the right to limit the number of guests inside the park at any time,” their post read.

According to the latest IATF resolution issued on February 11, the following establishments are allowed to reopen in areas under general community quarantine (GCQ): cinemas, driving schools, video and interactive game arcades, libraries, archives, museums and cultural centers; meeting, incentives, conferences and exhibitions; accredited establishments of the Department of Tourism (DOT); and tourist attractions such as parks, theme parks, natural sites, and historical landmarks.
However, local LGUs in Metro Manila only allow individuals aged 18 to 65 to go outside their homes.
