Camille Prats talks C-section recovery and breastfeeding!
In her first phone interview post-birth on GMA's talk show Mars, the actress-host shared that she is recovering very well from childbirth. Camille gave birth via C-section to daughter Nala Camilla last September 22. "After the C-section, the next day, yung unang-unang lakad, talagang parang napakahirap. Pero after that, parang okay na, kayang-kaya na," she shared. The mom of two said that being active at work until her eighth month of pregnancy helped. The more significant adjustment for Camille is just staying cooped up at home.ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
Camille also said that Nala, who weighed 7.5 pounds at birth, is "medyo malaki for her age. Kaya rin ako na-CS kasi if I wait for labor, sabihin mo nang 40 weeks max, baka hindi na sya magkasya and magkaproblema na with the delivery which might put her life at risk, kaya nag-decide na kami na i-deliver na siya ng almost 38 weeks... 37 weeks and 6 days to be exact," she shared.
Camille also admitted she had a hard time breastfeeding her newborn during the first few tries. "Noong una, may paglalaban na nangyayari sa breastfeeding... At yung paiyakan, hindi lang siya kung 'di pati ako kasi ang sakit!" she shared. "Pero ngayon we're getting better at it... so mas maginhawa na ang buhay," Camille said. (gmanetwork.com)
Nadie Lustre's 16-year-old brother takes his own life
The actress-host's family is grieving after her brother Isaiah Lustre was reportedly found dead in his room with a gunshot wound to his head on the night of October 7. Based on the testimonies of Nadine and Isaiah's younger siblings, Ezekiel and Naomie, they were playing on the iPad when they heard two gunshots coming from Isaiah's room. The 16-year-old was rushed to the hospital but didn't make it. The two siblings said they didn't know of any problems Isaiah had, but noticed that he kept to himself in the weeks leading to that fatal night. His father refused to have the incident investigated further.ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
On October 9, Nadine posted on Instagram stories the lyrics of the song "Everglow" by Coldplay: "But the changing of winds, and the way waters flow life as short as the falling of snow and now I'm gonna miss you I know." The next day, she posted an IG story that included a semi-colon with the hashtag #KeepGoing. The semicolon has been a symbol of support for people who are suffering from depression, addiction, self-harming, or suicide. Her boyfriend James Reid and many of their friends Bret Jackson, Lauren Reid, Jack Reid, Sam Concepcion and Kiana Valenciano also posted the same on their Instagram stories. "You are stronger than depression," another one of Nadine's Instagram stories read.ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOWADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
Nona Clemente, Nadine's aunt, confirmed Isaiah's death via Twitter on October 11. She also thanked everyone who offered love and prayers for their family. "May we respectfully request to allow us to have this one last time with our dear Isaiah privately," she wrote. (pep.ph)
Andi Eigenmann felt ridiculed for being a young single momADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
In an interview with CNN Philippines, the single mom and actress clarified her statement about quitting showbiz. "Hindi naman sa iniiwan ko yung film industry, pero ayaw ko na ng showbiz," Andi said. Acting is in her blood, being the daughter of two veteran actors Jaclyn Jose and the late Mark Gil, but she was done with the intrigues about her personal life. Andi admitted that her management Viva Artist Agency knew for about two years now that she's not happy and wanted to take a break from showbiz. The single mom wanted to be true to herself and longed for a more "normal" life outside of the spotlight.
"I was 22 years old when I gave birth to my daughter Ellie, but because people couldn’t get in on every detail of that bit of my life, I was in the wrong. Because I have a daughter, a party girl, probably a rebel, or whatnot," Andi said about feeling judged negatively for being a young mom in showbiz. "I had a daughter because I was in love and that was the fruit. Yeah fine, but I didn’t expect… I faced ridicule because of it. Because we live in a patriarchal society where a woman with no man cannot stand by herself," she said. (pep.ph)
