Aga, Charlene, Rufa Mae, and Ellen Pay Tribute to Their Late Parents on Social Media

In the last two weeks alone, the entertainment industry saw four celebrities lose a parent. We take a look back at the fond memories Aga Muhlach, his wife Charlene Gonzalez, Rufa Mae Quinto, and Ellen Adarna have of their late parents.
Aga on dad Cheng Muhlach
Aga's dad Alvaro "Cheng" Muhlach suffered a cardiac arrest on May 11 and passed on the next day in his sleep at the hospital. He was cremated and laid to rest on June 2. He was 71 years old.In October 2017, Cheng and Aga gave each other messages when they guested on the ABS-CBN morning talk show Magandang Buhay. It was the first interview the two had together in a long time.
Cheng said he was happy his eldest son was back at work, acting and making movies. "He is a good man, at marami pa siyang mararating pa. I'm very, very proud of him. Swerte rin ako na nagkaroon ako ng anak na Aga Muhlach," he said.

We always think of you, your wellness and your health. Life and death, we're there. We'll always be one family," Aga said.
"We never took it against you and Mama, no," Aga said of his parents' separation. "It was the perfect growing up for all of us. Hiwalay yung mama at papa namin, but they were there" he added. "He may not be the perfect husband, but he's a perfect father," Aga said of his dad.
Charlene Gonzalez on stepdad Pete Vera-Perez
On May 23, Aga's wife, Charlene, also lost a parent. The former beauty queen's stepfather, Pepito "Pete" Vera-Perez passed away at the age of 74. He was also laid to rest on June 2.Pete had a severe stroke eight years ago, according to a message Charlene posted on Instagram. "It still hurts today to physically lose him forever in our lives," the mom of two wrote.

He was the father figure in my life and a great inspiration," Charlene wrote on Instagram. "I was not his biological daughter, but he and his family treated me and my brother like their own," she added.
"He was such a free-spirited person, with such a kind heart," she added. "Uncle Pete helped my mom guide me, loved my brother and I through the years," she added. "I know he is roaming freely and happily in heaven now. We truly miss you, Uncle Pete. Thank you for being a father to me and my brother! You will forever be in our hearts."
Rufa Mae Quinto on Mommy Carol
Rufa Mae summed it up accurately when she said, "Ang sakit mawalan ng ina." She announced that her Mommy Carol passed peacefully in her sleep on May 26. She was thankful, however, that her mom was able to see her settle down with husband Trevor Magallanes, meet her granddaughter, Athena Alexandria, and even attend her first birthday. "Kaya ikaw din, tahimik na," she said.
Mommy Carol raised Rufa Mae and her siblings as a single mom. The sexy comedienne shared that she always reminded them "na maging mabuti kaming mga anak nya sa kapwa, maging simple at wag mag judge sa tao," the actress wrote as a caption for a message her sister posted. Rufa Mae added that she also got her sense of humor from her mom. "Kaya may Rufa Mae Quinto, Kaya may Booba, Kaya may Super B! Todo na to! Go go go," she wrote.
Ellen Adarna on dad Alan Adarna
Ellen's failure to show up at the first court hearing scheduled yesterday, June 4, on the case of libel and cybercrime filed against her was likely due to the death of her father, Alan Modesto Adarna. News of his passing first appeared on a Cebu florist's Instagram on June 2. As of this writing, the actress, who is reportedly expecting her first child, has not posted about her father's death on social media.
According to Pep.ph, the 58-year-old motel mogul from Cebu died of cardiac arrest on May 31.
