  • Chynna Ortaleza recently got her first jab of COVID-19 vaccine, and it was the Sinovac brand. The GMA-7 actress and mom of two shared her experience and some tips on Instagram.

"I prayed for this day," she said, adding, "Category: A3." That priority population groups refers to adults with comorbidities who are not frontline workers and senior citizens, according to the National Deployment and Vaccination Plan designed by the Department of Health (DOH).

Chynna, in an interview with PEP.ph, explained that she has asthma and she was advised by her pulmonologist to get vaccinated. On the other hand, her husband Kean Cipriano has no comorbidity, so the actor-musician has to wait for his turn down the priority list.

She went on saying in her post, "First dose of Sinovac today through the Batasan National High School Vaccine Site. It took an hour to finish the process.

"Booked my appointment through the EzConsult App. Thank you to my physicians for patiently answering all my questions. And also educating and encouraging me about Covid-19 Vaccination, and why I had to get jabbed now & not later."

Chynna expressed her thanks to the frontline personel and staff of the Quezon City local government unit (LGU), whom she described as "cheerful, happy, and easy to assist everyone." She said "they also explained to me in detail what I would expect after vaccination."

She previously shared tips in an earlier post about the vaccination experiences of her older brother, who also has a comorbidity, and their mother, a senior citizen. Among her reminders: going to the site 3o minutes before the schedule and making sure you have eaten and been to the toilet.

The Idol Sa Kusina host has tips for those who are concerned about their second dose: "You do not need to rebook according to the staff. Ezconsult will take care of informing you of the details of your appointment on specified date indicated in your vaccine card through SMS or email.

"The second dose is RESERVED for you po. Do not worry. Also, please do not be discouraged if currently mahirap po makakuha ng appointment. The QC LGU is waiting for supplies to come in.

"You can also opt for Baranggay assisted booking. Please call your Kagawad or Captain for questions. Tiwala lang po! Believe na we will all be vaccinated soon."

"Paalala lang po sa mga magpapabakuna. Mag suot ng tamang mask, faceshield, mag alcohol at higit sa lahat.. SOCIAL DISTANCING po. Pila po tayo ng maayos dahil napaka efficient naman po ng systema sa loob at lahat ng naka schedule ay hindi papabayaan."
