The court has finally granted the annulment of Sunshine Cruz and Cesar Montano after almost four years of hearing the case. The former couple are now free to remarry.
Sunshine filed the petition in May 2014, a year after she and Cesar separated.
In an exclusive interview with Pep.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), today, September 18, 2018, the actress said she shed tears of joy when she heard the news.
"Sobrang kaiyak. I was crying kanina. Grabe," she said.

Her lawyer's message to her read, "Good afternoon Miss Sunshine. Congratulations on your petition for annulment, which was granted by the court.”
Sunshine, 41, and Cesar, 56, have three daughters: Angeline Isabelle, Samantha Angeline, and Angel Franchesca.
They were married for 13 years before they went their separate ways, allegedly due to Cesar's infidelity.ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW

Since their separation, Sunshine and Cesar have been emboiled in a number of legal altercations.
On August 2013, eight months after Sunshine left their conjugal home, she filed a complaint against her ex-husband for allegedly barging into her house and attacking her.
On February 2015, she filed a case of child abuse, alleging that Cesar "acted inappropriately" in front of his three daughters when they stayed overnight at the actor's home. The case was junked by the Quezon City Prosecutor's Office on February 2016 for lack of probable cause.
The mom of three has also repeatedly called out Cesar in the past for neglecting to give financial support to their children. In a recent interview, she said she is ready to take up legal action.
Sunshine is currently in a relationship with Macky Mathay, who was also previously married and is a father to three kids.
