Below is the Department of Education's (DepEd) official school calendar for 2017 to 2018, which has an expected 195 class days. Note that dates may vary for private schools. There are also six long weekends based on the holiday and apart from the semestral break, Christmas vacation, and Holy Week. Plot your family vacations accordingly.
While public schools have opened classes already, many private schools are opening towards the middle and end of the month of June. This is still in accordance to Republic Act No. 7797 ("An Act to Lengthen the School Calendar from Two Hundred Days to Not More Than Two Hundred Twenty (Class Days"), but DepEd says classes should start no later than August 31.
