Getting back to your pre-pregnant shape after giving birth may take a long time—and that's okay. It's not easy to recover from childbirth while taking care of a newborn. Still, Dianne Medina earned praises from her followers when she shared hers just 20 days postpartum.
"Light work for me today! 20 days postpartum," the new mom wrote on Instagram. Dianne gave birth to her and husband Rodney Cruz's first child, son Joaquin, last September 10, 2020.
The photo that accompanied her caption was a full-length mirror selfie taken in their walk-in closet. It looks like Dianne was wearing her postpartum binder over a short dress and in low heels. She looked slim and fab, with no sign of having a postpartum pouch.

Her followers only had praises for the new mom. "You look great!" "Parangdi nanganak!" and Ang bilis, payat na!" were some of the comments Dianne received.
Dianne gave birth via cesarean section due to high blood pressure
"Light work" for Dianne meant having to do a home shoot. She delivered Baby Joaquin via cesarean section (CS).
"Noong time ng internal exam, I was already four centimeters, hindi ko alam. Sabi ng doktor ko 'Hindi ka na pwedeng umuwi, diretso ka na ng labor room, manganganak ka na today," Dianne recalled on GMA's Unang Hirit.
Hospital protocols during the pandemic meant that she would have to brave childbirth alone. Rodjun wouldn't be allowed to be with her inside the delivery room, so she had to do it all by herself.
"Tapos sabi ng doktor ko, ang taas ng blood pressure ko. I was pre-eclamptic, so talagang CS na po," Dianne added. Pre-eclampsia is a pregnancy complication characterized by high blood pressure during pregnancy. (Click here to read more about pre-eclampsia.)

The new mom couldn't help but cry when she first heard Baby Joaquin cry and finally held her son for their Unang Yakap or skin-to-skin contact. Everything Dianne and Rodjun went through was all worth it.
