Shopaholics and travel junkies, you may have heard of something called the Great Singapore Sale, an annual Singaporean event wherein stores and malls all over the country go on sale for an entire month. Well, you'll be happy to know that a local version is on its way: the Department of Tourism is setting up a nationwide sale called The 2020 Philippine Shopping Festival from March 1 to 31!ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
The month-long sale will include airlines, hotels, tour packages, food establishments, jewelry, fashion, beauty, furniture, wellness products, and more. You can also get 15% to 70% discounts on Philippine-made products! You'll be hard-pressed to find a shopping complex in the month of March that isn't on sale. According to the Philippine News Agency, participating malls include those under the Araneta Group, Ayala Land Malls Inc., Duty Free Philippine Corporation, Filinvest Land Inc., Greenfield Development Corporation, Vista Malls, Megaworld Corporation, Ortigas Land, Power Plant Mall, Robinsons Land Corporation, Rustan Commercial Corporation, Shangri-La Plaza Corporation, SM Supermalls, and Stores Specialists Inc.
Meanwhile, participating airlines include Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific Air, and AirAsia. The Air Carriers Association of the Philippines is also set to slash the prices off airfare tickets in order to boost domestic tourism, so it's the perfect time to book tickets to your dream destination!
According to Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat, "elevating the shopping experience will go a long way to enhance the attractiveness of our tourist destinations all over the Philippines, whether it is our big cities or in our beautiful provinces."
