On the average there is almost one premature baby born every day at PGH (Philippine General Hospital), more than half of which need respiratory aid due to their under developed lungs. Of these premature babies 1 out of 10 die. Given that 30% of these deaths take place in transportation, this can be avoided with the acquisition of a portable x-ray machine.
The students of Business Communication 08 at the Ateneo Graduate School of Business in collaboration with the Child Health In Life and Development (CHILD) Foundation and PGH, are shining a light on this cause. Their program called “DREAM A LITTLE DREAM” aims to change the lives of babies born with pulmonary problems.
They are trying to raise funds to help provide two portable x-ray machines worth Php1,000,000 that are badly needed by the pediatric patients in PGH. These critically-ill children are under constant monitoring and are transported to x-ray labs four floors down. It is in this transport that these babies are under heightened risk of complications and the potential risk of death.

"Seeing the babies was just heartbreaking. They need all the help they can get. We need to do something to ease their situation," says Ronchie de Leon, a student of BUSCOM E08 after a recent visit to the PGH pediatric ward.
