'Eat Bulaga! Forever,' Isabelle Daza Reminisces Good Times As A Host Of The Noontime Show

What would lunch time be like without Eat Bulaga?

As someone who grew up watching Eat Bulaga! with my family during lunch, it's heartbreaking to live in this moment when the pillars of the long-running noontime show bid goodbye to the place they called home for 44 years.

Veteran hosts and actors Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon, collectively known as TVJ, announced their departure from TAPE Incorporated, the management behind Eat Bulaga!, on May 31.

According to sources of the Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP.ph), TVJ has already signed a contract with TV5 for a new program.

While the future of Eat Bulaga! as a noontime show remains uncertain, celebrities and netizens have expressed their feelings on social media regarding this major change in Philippine TV.

Isabelle Daza pays tribute to Eat Bulaga!

One of the show's former hosts, Isabelle Daza, took to Instagram to share her emotions about the impending end of Eat Bulaga!, which was her home for almost four years.

"Eat Bulaga forever," Belle wrote in her first Instagram story posted last night. She shared a black and white photo of TVJ taken during yesterday's announcement, which was shared by fellow host Ryan Agoncillo.

She then reminisced about her experiences building friendships with her fellow hosts and even being Ryza Mae Dizon's tutor during breaks on the set.

Her mom, Gloria Diaz, also appeared on the show, as did her closest friends Solenn Heussaff, Georgina Wilson, and Liz Uy.

"I ate lunch with these guys almost four years straight, every day from Monday to Saturday," she shared in one photo. "I can honestly say Ryan Agoncillo had the best baon that we would all steal from."

She expressed gratitude for having built lasting friendships with Pia Guanio and Pauleen Luna, as well as the team that works behind the scenes.

Belle stepped out of her comfort zone as an "IT girl" and dived into the crazy and fun world of Bulagaan.

"One of the hardest decisions of my life was to leave this show," Belle maintained.

On her last day, her colleagues surprised her with a flashmob performance of her favorite song. "All the writers, floor directors, stylists, makeup artists, assistants, hairstylists, and the whole team behind the camera were so, so sweet—the best people I've ever worked with."

Belle concluded with a group photo taken in 2014, saying "Forever Eat Bulaga."

What's next for Eat Bulaga?

In a statement, GMA maintained that they still have a block time agreement with TAPE Incorporated until the end of 2024 for the noontime slot.

"Together with all the Filipino fans, we pray for a smooth and swift resolution of their issues. Maraming salamat sa patuloy na suporta, mga Kapuso," GMA said.

Nevertheless, regardless of what happens to Eat Bulaga, rest assured that all the memories we made with our families during the 12 noon to 2 PM slot for the past 44 years will remain in the hearts of the Dabarkads.
