UPDATE: It's confirmed: Toni Gonzaga already has a bun in the oven!
On April 17, in the Sunday noontime variety show ASAP, Toni finally made the pregnancy announcement: "Our love story ay nagbunga na and yes, God finally opened my womb and I'm expecting my first child," she said. "It took me some time [to announce it] kasi I was waiting for my doctor’s approval na it’s a go, that I can finally say ‘I’m pregnant'", Toni explained.
The 32-year-old actress and host first shared the news with her sister Alex. Toni also added that she'd still honor her showbiz commitments, but she would like to eventually take it slow to focus on her pregnancy. "I just wanna enjoy the moment," she said.
The Kapamilya actress is reportedly pregnant with her and husband director Paul Soriano's first child.
While there have been no confirmation announcements yet from the couple, Pep.ph reports that a source in the couple’s circle of friends confirmed it. Both Toni and Paul's social media accounts bear no clues if the report is indeed true.
However, Toni's pregnancy is allegedly the reason behind the delay of the ABS-CBN primetime drama series "Written in Our Stars," which Toni will headline together with Piolo Pascual, Sam Milby, and Jolina Magdangal. The series started taping back in July 2014, and was slated to premiere early 2016.
Toni had said before that she and Paul plan to have a baby in "late 2016 or early 2017". She said they wanted to enjoy each other first as husband and wife before having a baby. Paul, on the other hand, expressed in another interview that he wanted to have twins, while Toni hopes for a baby boy. The couple, however, said that they will be happy with whatever they will be blessed with, and that they will love their child unconditionally.
