  • It came as a surprise when TV hosts Iya Villania and Drew Arellano posted baby gender-reveal videos on their Instagram accounts over the weekend, as there had been no previous report that the Fil-Aussie mom was on the family way for the second time. The gender-reveal thus doubled as the couple's pregnancy announcement. 

    In an interview aired on GMA News' 24 Oras, Iya shared that both she and Drew were totally in the dark about the gender of their baby. "To set the record straight, hindi namin alam ni Drew kung ano ang gender, parehas lang kaming na-surprise," she said. Iya is already in her fourth month of pregnancy, GMA News reports. Their firstborn, son Primo, turned one in August last year.

    The soon-to-be mom-of-two added that she's already had dreams that her second child will be another boy, so she was a little bit excited about confirming her suspicion. True enough, based on the video, the Arellanos are having another baby boy and are now in the process of shortlisting possible names. 


    Like other preggos, Iya said she's experiencing some odd food aversions this time around. "'Yung sobrang type ko noon na pizza o pandesal hindi ko masyado type ngayon o hinahanap," she shared. Instead, she craves for soup and noodles.

    Based on the video, Iya makes pregnancy look like a breeze, thanks to her exercise regimen. No surprise there, since her first pregnancy didn't' stop her from exercising up until the ninth month. 

    In an interview with Smartparenting.com.ph in 2017Iya recalled that when she first posted videos of her exercise regimen while pregnant, she was taken aback by the negative comments from some of her followers on social media. "I was hoping that I could encourage and inspire other moms, but the negative comments were a little bit of a shock na pati ako medyo natakot." But seeing other pregnant women doing more extreme exercises reassured her that she's doing okay (with her doctor's advise, of course).

    "I really had to listen to my body; if I felt something different, I'd slow down," Iya stressed.
