Now that her son Primo is eating solid food, the celebrity mom discovered a practical tip to storing her breast milk: "To store my breastmilk in 2-3oz portions so that less milk is wasted when baby's intake increases and you have to combine a bag or two," Iya wrote. It's a very useful tip, since re-freezing thawed breast milk is a no-no, so storing breast milk in small packages accounts for less wastage. "Helpful also for when you just need a little milk to mix in with baby's food," she added. The new mom learned this from Abbie Venida-Yabot, a certified lactation counselor, La Leche League Leader, and mom of five. Iya also used the hashtag #liguidgold, referring to breast milk, and #everydropcounts.

New bill allows married women to revert to their maiden surname
While the use of a husband's surname is not mandatory for married women, wives still cannot go back to using their maiden surname without a court order should the marriage not work out. That's what former president (now Pampanga Representative) Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo's House Bill No. 6028 is trying to change. Should the bill be enacted into law, a married woman would be able to use her maiden surname again after a legal separation, nullity of marriage, annulment, or divorce in another country through a simple administrative process with the Office of the Civil Registrar. The woman may also apply to use her original surname after being separated or abandoned by her spouse for more than ten years, or if her husband is presumed dead. The bill will make the process easier and faster for women who are qualified to use their maiden name again, should they want to. (gmanetwork.com)
Longer validity of driver's license and passport, free public Internet bills signed into law
President Rodrigo Duterte has signed three new bills into law. Republic Act 10928 is an act extending the passport validity of adults to 10 years. Minors or individuals under 18 years old, however, will have passports valid for five years only. Republic Act 10930 is a law which extends the driver's license’s validity to five years, except for student permits. The law States that non-professional drivers with no record of violations will be entitled to renew their driver's license with a validity of 10 years. However, it also has provisions for imposing stricter rules for the issuance of drivers' licenses. Republic Act No. 10929, also known as the Free Internet Access in Public Places Act, mandates that the government provide free internet in public places.
