Jake Ejercito Reveals Ellie Eigenmann Calls Him Daddy

Plus, Paula Peralejo shares her birthing story, Gladys Reyes talks about her fourth pregnancy at age 38, and more!

1. Jake Ejercito reveals Ellie Eigenmann calls him 'Daddy'

On Twitter, the newbie actor shared a cute exchange between him and his daughter Ellie Eigenmann. She was talking to him about having "a lot of money" and referred to Jake as "Daddy." Has she always called him as such, we wonder. Jake's posts of him and Ellie have been on the spotlight ever since he recently confirmed he was Ellie's biological dad. He had only known about it a year ago via a DNA test, he said. His social media posts seemed to have angered Ellie's lola Jaclyn Jose, whose comments (read here) have drawn a lot of flak from Jake's followers. (pep.ph)

2. Paula Peralejo shares her birthing story

In her blog, the new mom revealed that, at 40 weeks gestation, she was diagnosed with oligohydramnios or having low amount of amniotic fluid. It posed a risk to the baby and can require her labor to be induced, a procedure Paula didn't want to undergo because she wanted everything to be natural and she was afraid of the risks of artificially starting labor.

"On the way to the hospital, my husband and I made peace with the fact that I might end up in a C-section. That no matter how much I prepared (physically and mentally), some things were beyond our control. He hugged me and told me that what was important is that we tried our best for Pablo, and if that was the most we could do, there was nothing to regret," she wrote.

Apart from the amniotic fluid issue, Paula and Pablo were doing fine. As the contractions became stronger, she described the pain as "intense" and later on resorted to sedation for temporary pain relief. When it was time to push the baby out, she admitted she had a hard time, only making one-centimeter progress for every major effort of pushing timed with the strong contractions. Pauls described the moment she saw her baby for the first time. "I swear, right at that moment, all the pain WAS GONE! In an instant. It’s so surreal. From my all fours position, I just sat and held my baby," she wrote. "Sure, it wasn’t the all-natural, normal delivery I imagined my birth to be. The fact that I was induced already took out the natural part of my plan. But you know what? It’s still a great birth experience, especially in a hospital!"

3. Gladys Reyes talks about her fourth pregnancy
Now two months on the family way for the fourth time, the 38-year-old actress shared her excitement for her pregnancy. It has been six years since Gladys was last pregnant. Her eldest Christoph, daughter Aquisha, and youngest son Grant all had two-year intervals. Gladys said her pregnancy is an "unexpected blessing" that the family is happy about. "At least before I reach forty, naganap pa," she said. "I hope babae, pero si Christopher (her husband), kung lalaki, okay din sa kanya para daw nag-iisa young girl namin. Kung girl, of course, happy kasi two boys, two girls." She said she will continue to work until she can. Good thing her role on the show Oh, My Mama is not the villain type, so she's more relaxed on the set. "Hindi ko kailangang magalit, hindi ko kailangang manakit... May eksena man ako na iyakan, hindi masyadong mabigat," Gladys said, adding that she's well taken cared of by the production. (pep.ph)

4. Four new Zika cases bring PH's total to 23
Fortunately, none of the new four confirmed patients are pregnant. In a press briefing last november 4, Department of Health (DOH) Secretary Paulyn Jean Ubial said, "There are now 23 cases. There are 12 [cases] in Iloilo, one in Muntinlupa, one in Cebu, one in Antipolo, two in Mandaluyong, three in Bacoor, one in Quezon City, one in Calamba, and one in Las Piñas.” While the number of patients who were infected with the Zika virus are increasing, Ubial stressed that there has been no deaths related to the condition. All of the patients have since recovered from their symptoms, which include rashes, joint pain,  conjunctivitis, muscle pain, headache, pain behind the eyes, and vomiting. Zika has been linked to cause microcephaly in newborn babies of infected mothers. The main mode of transmission of the virus is through the same mosquitos that carry dengue, but it can also be sexually-transmitted. The DOH continues to closely monitor that virus and urges the public to eliminate mosquito-breeding places. (inquirer.net)
