Chynna Ortaleza and Kean Cipriano welcomed their second child, a baby boy they named Salem, on September 25, 2019, at 7:14 p.m. At birth, the baby boy weighed six pounds and 12 ounces and measured 50 centimeters long.
The new mom and her newborn are now recovering at home with big sister Stellar. On Instagram, Kean acknowledged his wife’s strength and publicly showered her with praise and gratitude.
“Thank you so much, my love, @chynsortaleza,” the new dad of two wrote on Instagram yesterday, September 29. “You don’t know how much I appreciate everything. Everything you do for our family,” Kean added.
“Wild! Ibang klase!” Kean described his wife’s second journey to motherhood. Kean singled out the challenges Chynna had during pregnancy and birth and the hurdles she has yet to overcome during the postpartum period — on top of “the nurturing, and taking care of the family.”

“Hindi ko alam kung paano ako makakabawi, but please know that I’m just here for you,” Kean shared. “I love you! Sobrang bilib ako sa’yo,” he shared. “Respect to each and every woman in this world!” he added.
Before going home from the hospital, Chynna shared a simple parent's prayer. "Thank you, Lord, for entrusting Your beautiful children to us. Guide @kean and I, always,” she wrote as a caption for a photo of her two kids, Ate Stellar and Baby Salem.
A day after giving birth, Chynna shared her nursing essentials for her attempt at nursing. “Breastfeeding and I had not been the best of friends, but I’m still going to try my very best,” she wrote on her Instagram Stories with a photo of the products on her bedside.

In an article on Smartparenting.com.ph, Chynna, then a first-time mom, admitted breaking down when she finally accepted the reality that exclusive breastfeeding was not working out for her and her daughter. Hopefully, it works better for her this time around.
On their first night at home, Chynna shared that she has been “thinking a lot and overcome with gratitude.” Being a parent to a newborn has always been associated with sleepless nights, and Chynna did stay up all night caring for baby Salem.
“Waiting for the morning sun to come,” Chynna wrote, thanking the Lord for the support of "family, friends," as well as "everyday miracles." The actress simply described her new life as a mom of two as a "new kind of happy!
