Kylie Padilla Tells Moms: 'You Are Capable of a Love So Much Bigger Than Yourself'

On her firstborn’s second birthday, Kylie Padilla confirmed she and husband Aljur Abrenica were expecting another baby boy. Less than a week since the announcement, the preggo mom also admitted to battling perinatal depression.

As she shared her gorgeous maternity photos and family portraits with husband Aljur and 2-year-old son Alas, Kylie could not help but reflect. She had written the following for one of her maternity portraits but has since deleted it: “Pictures don’t say enough for the truth that lies in the unspoken moments you feel like you aren’t equipped or prepared for what is ahead. Or the countless times you wish you could say, ‘I need rest,’ ‘I need help,’ or ‘Am I doing okay?’”

“People don’t hear that voice in your head that is so hard on you all the time. The times when you have moments of doubt, moments of impatience, moments of reliving trauma that you don’t want to touch any part of your family, so you fight for it to at least just touch you,” the preggo mom added.

Despite the emotional roller coaster, Kylie seems to be finding comfort in her role as a mother. “There is a great deal of healing in knowing you are capable of a love so much bigger than yourself. And there is a great deal of freedom in knowing you are more than what hurt you, and you are more than what your mind makes you believe. You can be an instrument of love, and there is no shame in that. Because love is the one thing God tries to teach us. It is just simpler than we think,” Kylie wrote.

Moms who are waiting to welcome their second baby can relate to Kylie's being sentimental about becoming a mom of two. In her birthday video for Alas, Kylie thanked her son for “filling our lives with such wonder and magic and beauty and love.”

“Thank you for healing mama’s heart and healing everyone around you,” she said.

In this adorable photo of Alas, Kylie wrote in the caption: “The moment it sunk in that every day he ages and every day he is becoming something new, the moment I felt I wish I never even blink so as not to miss one bit,” she wrote.

“My boy. My little boy kulit. Kuya na. I know you will be the most loving kuya. I trust you with your little brother, I couldn’t be happier you are his kuya,” Kylie shared.

The soon-to-be momma of two Kylie is currently 23 weeks pregnant. In her maternity photos, she opted for a black and white theme, donning a flowy white robe and a baby bump-hugging black dress for her maternity portraits. It was a more casual vibe for her family portraits.

Kylie also hinted on baby number two’s name. “One last family portrait before baby AR comes into our family,” she wrote.
