Robin Padilla Finally Meets Grandson Alas at Maria Isabella's 1st Birthday

Last week, on November 18, Mariel and Robin Padilla threw a Spanish-themed first birthday bash for their unica hija, Maria Isabella, at the Blue Leaf events venue in Taguig City. Isabella was born in the U.S. a year ago on November 14, and Robin was not able to join Mariel to witness their daughter's birth, so marking her first year is special for the family. 

"Words will never be enough to express my love for you. You are everything," wrote Mariel on her birthday greeting for her daughter on Instagram. "In the name of God the most gracious the most merciful, my miracle baby is now one year old," was Robin's birthday message for Isabella. 

Indeed, Maria Isabella is a miracle baby. Mariel had suffered two miscarriages before successfully carrying Maria Isabella to term. After she gave birth, she also struggled to nurse her daughter, who to this day is still breastfed.

Overcoming these challenges is no easy feat, so a celebration fit for royalty is only apt. Mariel's sister, events planner Kaye Garcia, along with other party suppliers, went all out for Maria Isabella's first birthday bash!

Undeniably, one of the highlights of Maria Isabella's party is the moment Robin's daughter Kylie Padilla arrived with her son Alas Joaquin. It was the first meeting for her son and lolo Robin since she gave birth to her and fiance Aljur Abrenica's love child in August, which took a while to happen because of a gap between Robin and Aljur.  

"Definitely one of the highlights of the party. Family is everything. Thank you @kylienicolepadilla," Mariel captioned a photo that captured that emotional reunion. "Walang pinakamasaya sa isang lolo kundi ang mayakap at mabuhat ang isa sa unang apo," Robin wrote as a caption for a video by Vidanes Celebrity Marketing. "Napakasarap iparinig sa kanyang tenga ang Adhan (call to prayer) bilang unang pamana sa kanyang napakamusmos at matalas na pandinig," he added.
