In March this year, Nikka miscarried and lost what could have been their third baby during her third month of pregnancy. “I guess God just had another plan,” she told Smartparenting.com.ph. “Siguro po no’ng nalaman ko ’yon, hindi na po ako nagtanong. Hinayaan na lang po, and we just told ourselves that it wasn’t meant to be na lang para hindi na lang maghanap ng rason. Hindi na kailangang mag-isip kung sino ang sisisihin. Not meant to be lang ’yong inisip namin.”
Their loss was even aggravated by hurtful comments from some netizens.
One month after her miscarriage, Nikka found out she was pregnant again, making it a "rainbow baby," or a baby conceived after a miscarriage. The term was coined from how a rainbow usually follows a storm to give hope.
Nikka said that she was even more careful this time, and admitted to feeling paranoid once she reached her third month of pregnancy due to her history. But, she added, “I always reminded myself na pag gusto naman ni Lord, kahit tumalon-talon ka pa, di ba? Kahit ano’ng gawin mo, nand’yan ’yan. So I didn’t allow fear to say so much.”

The couple couldn't be happier with this great blessing to mark the start of the year.
“And then there were three! 😠I have never been so inlove in my life! â¤ï¸” the new mom said. Congratulations!
