  • It can be a bit stressful following the news during this global pandemic. But just as we all stay home and remain vigilant against the spread of COVID-19, let's not forget the frontliners that risk their lives every day.

    Many celebrities have used their status and reach to help health workers and other frontliners. Bela Padilla raised money for street vendors. Angel Locsin has been providing sanitation tents to hospitals. Judy Ann Santos, Marian Rivera, and Pokwang do what they do best: cook!

    Marian cooked menudo, a family specialty

    Marian Rivera cooked their family's specialty, the menudo recipe that has been passed to her by her Nanay Ingkang, for frontliners at the Quezon City General Hospital. She had help from Waltermart and Touch Mama for sending more stoves.

    Judy Ann Santos whipped up her famous Angrydobo. The video she and Ryan Agoncillo shared on their Instagram showed the chef-mama doing what she does best in the kitchen.

    Both their caption reads: "Home is where the (heart emoji) is." At the end of the video, after packing the Angrydobo meals in paper bags, Judy Ann posted a sticky note that said," Sa aming mga frontliners, maraming salamat."

    Last week, Judy Ann Santos, Ryan Agoncillo, and their kids joined a program that provides do-it-yourself (DIY) face shields for health workers at the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine.

    Pokwang also gave out sandwiches, rice, and canned goods

    The Kapamilya actress personally prepared sandwiches for policemen and soldiers at checkpoints and doctors and nurses in Rizal. Pokwang (real name Marietta Subong) also sent sacks of rice and canned goods for people that have no means to stock food during the lockdown through their barangay captain.

    The mama of two has also been tapped by Father Tito Calauag to be a "central kitchen" to cook food for poor families. Pokwang received some criticism for her charitable acts. She, however, reminded everyone that in the time of crisis, it's the right time to use social media to send good vibes instead of negativity.
