Marian Rivera Plans To Cut Off Daughter Zia's Exposure on Social MediaMarian Rivera is aware of the attention her kids, Zia and Ziggy are getting on social media.by Rachel Perez .
Digital media has been part of the parenting conversation since smartphones have been an integral part of everybody's life, even kids. It’s even more tricky to deal with if you’re a public figure and a celebrity like Marian Rivera.
The Kapuso actress is aware of the attention her kids, Zia and Ziggy Dantes, are getting in real life and on social media. Even without her own social media account, Marian’s daughter, who’s turning 4 this month, is one of the most followed celebrity kids on social media today.
But the mom of two is planning to cutting off all of Zia’s exposure on social media soon.ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOWCONTINUE READING BELOWRecommended Videos
“Si Zia kasi ang tipo ng bata na mature na mag-isip kaya nag-usap kami ni Dong na at a certain age niya, puputulin namin lahat ng social media niya,” Marian revealed to ABS-CBN’s Push during her contract renewal with Beautederm.
“Gusto rin kasi namin maramdaman niya ‘yung pagiging normal,” the mom of two explained. Marian and her husband, Dingdong Dantes, want Zia to go to school like any other child her age and not be treated like a celebrity.ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
“Kasi ngayon, hindi siya normal. Parang mas pinagkakaguluhan pa siya kaysa sa amin,” Marian said of people wanting to see more of her kids.
Since Zia was born and even after Ziggy arrived, Marian and Dingdong don’t mind fan-made social media pages created in their children’s names. In fact, the couple appreciates these accounts while still being careful they themselves don’t post too many photos of their kids, so they’re not overexposed to the limelight.ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOWADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
When asked why Zia does not have her own account, Dingdong said they would like to give her that choice when she is old enough. “We’d like to give her the option kung gusto talaga niya magkaroon ng sarili niya dahil buhay din naman niya ‘yon ultimately,” he explained.
If, in the future, Zia decides to want to be an artist like her parents, Marian stressed that she will not stand in her daughter’s way. Like any other parent, she’s will support of her child.
