It's no secret that moms can be a particularly opinionated bunch, especially when it comes to managingtheir households and budgets. However, it seems that nothing gets them talking more than someone attempting to guide them on meal planning and budgeting.
This is precisely what happened when former actress turned entrepreneur Neri Naig-Miranda shared her one-week meal plan for a family on a 1,000-peso budget, complete with a shopping list, on September 10. The post quickly went viral and garnered a slew of reactions and comments from netizens, with many mothers voicing their thoughts.
In her post, Neri presented a sample weekly meal plan designed for moms who will “mamamalengke bukas pagkatapos ihatid ang mga bata sa school.” She explained, “Nagtry akong magbudget ng P1,000 for a week.

As of writing, Neri’s post has received 12,000+ reactions and 4,000+ comments. Most of it expressed skepticism, questioning if the said meal plan is really possible given the recent surge in grocery and market prices.
One comment read, “This is the malungkot and deprived Neri's meal plan lols!

Others cast doubt on the truthfulness of her post, saying, “Hindi makatotohanan…
And sana po pakilagay kung meal for how many person. Iyun lang po.”
“Very realistic! Tulog nalang.”
Some users listed the prices of some of the items she included in her list, saying, “Peanut butter pa lang at pinoy tasty magkano na?

“Breakdown please. And share the market where you bought your groceries.”
One user challenged her to prove her claims, saying, “Maganda nito mag live grocery sya na my 1k na dala dala tapos bilhin niya lahat ng nandyan sa list niya.”
Nevertheless, Neri also has her share of supporters, with one agreeing to eating leftovers for dinner: “Yes po dito, kung ano natirang ulam, ayun na lang din sa gabi. Init init na lang.”
Neri’s replies
Next time ilagay ko po lahat ng details at how much. Go check some of my old posts para mas clear. Salamat!”

“KAILANGAN TALAGA MAY EXPLANATION AT DISCLAIMER AFTER. MARAMING PARAAN PARA MAKATIPID, UMPISAHAN NA PARA MAGING WAIS SA BUHAY. MASAYA IYUN!”
