  • Newborn abandoned in NAIA trash bin saved by docs, nurses

On Monday, July 3, a newborn baby was found in the trash bin in one of the bathrooms of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1. Attendant Maricel Guliman told Inquirer.net that she found the bathroom cubicle floor full of blood, and the baby inside the trash bin, after a woman used the bathroom for longer than usual.

According to a report to the Manila International Airport Authority, the newborn baby was taken to the clinic at past 11 a.m and was initially diagnosed to be bluish from neck to head, gasping for air, and had a slow heart rate. Thankfully, the infant was revived, but it took doctors and nurses 30 minutes to resuscitate it until its condition normalized. The baby was brought to the Pasay City General Hospital thereafter. Airport authorities are still investigating the incident and are searching through CCTV footages to identify the child’s mother. (inquirer.net)

Sunshine Dizon still hurting a year after split with husband

"I would say that I’m in a better place right now. Life will never be the same again; it’s hard, and yet I’m still thankful," the actress told Pep.ph. Sunshine is thankful her kids are doing okay even after her split with their dad, Timothy Tan. "Siyempre, hindi mo pa rin maiaalis yung... feeling ko, para siyang sugat na ewan ko kung maghi-heal pa. Pero nandun na siya, may peklat na," she said. Sunshine admits that she still cries about it sometimes, "pero yun nga, you just choose to go on and push through. Kung maiyak ka, umiyak ka, ilabas mo lang. And then after that, you just move on." She's still hoping for the best on the ongoing case she filed against her husband's alleged mistress. "Malalaman natin kung madi-dismiss or go on with a pre-trial na. I’m still hoping for the best," Sunshine said. (pep.ph)

The TV host-comedian is thankful that his wife, Pauleen Luna, is healthy, and that her pregnancy is going smoothly. "Hindi naman siya 'yung tipong hirap magbuntis. Hindi naman siya 'yung tipong naghahanap ng kung ano-ano," Vic said in an interview with GMA's 24 Oras. "One thing I noticed lang, marami siyang ayaw na dati gusto niya," he said, which is a common pregnancy symptom. Vic shared that they are still working on what to name their soon-to-arrive baby girl. Will he be okay with Pauleen going back to work after giving birth? Vic replied that he's not going to get in the way if that's what his wife wants. "But I definitely believe that she will be a full-fledged mother. Kung baga, priorities will change I think. Ang magiging priority is the baby, second na lang yung career," Vic explained. Massive 16-pound baby born to woman in Indiana
At 37 weeks, Whitney Hallet's doctors estimated her unborn son's birth weight to be at 12 pounds. When she gave birth via C-section last May 1, doctors and nurses were shocked to see that he weighed 16 pounds! According to Edmond, his wife Whitney had been diagnosed with gestational diabetes, a condition that causes babies to grow big while in the uterus and ups the mother’s risk for preeclampsia and type-2 diabetes after pregnancy. Prior to this, Whitney had given birth to three babies weighing eight pounds and eight ounces, eleven pounds and one ounce, and nine pounds and 14 ounces. Newborn baby Waylon had to stay in the hospital's neonatal intensive care unit for seven weeks due to feeding and breathing issues. He's out of the hospital now and is doing well. "He sleeps a lot more than our other babies did, but he's healthy," Edmond said, adding that he's alert when awake and smiles a lot. (techtimes.com)
