  • It’s still four months until Argentinean model Nico Bolzico and his Filipino-French wife, TV host Solenn Heussaff are to officially become parents, but the excited couple are already making headlines looking ahead to what life is going to be with their first child, a daughter.

This week, upon learning the gender of the baby, Nico half-jokingly posted on his Instagram account a fair warning to all his friends who have same-age sons as his would-be daughter.

“No matter how close we are, you must know that our friendship will expire in 14 years,” he wrote in his usual good-humored manner.

On a more serious note, the 35-year-old entrepreneur is quite confident about the journey he will be taking on come January 2020, when Solenn is due to give birth, because he knows he is in it with the right person.

“I have the best mother for her I can ask for, so I know that everything will be fine because Solenn will be there.

“And I will be there, the random one making mistakes, so Solenn will be the one telling me, ‘That’s wrong! That’s right!’” he said self-deprecatingly.

It may be too early to tell, but when asked what kind of a father he would be, Nico said he won’t be the type who will allow his child to be spoiled.

“And as long as she is a good person, the rest is secondary and we want to inculcate good values, we don’t want... I will not allow, we will not allow to have a spoiled kid, so we will make sure.

“Spoiling is something we don’t want, you know spoiled kids. She will not be like that; she will be a sweet girl because she has a sweet mom!

“We will try to be the best parents,” he added.

Nico also expressed his intentions of raising his daughter in a very Filipino way.

“She is full Pinoy, she is gonna be born here, she is gonna live here, we are not going anywhere,” he told Pep.ph.

In fact, he wants his daughter to learn the Filipino language primarily.

“She is Filipina. We want her to have the full-on Filipino culture... and I want her to speak Tagalog properly, very well, so that will be a priority.

“But I also want her to be able to speak Spanish because my parents don’t speak English, so Spanish will be a need so she can communicate with her grandparents in Argentina.”

At this point, Nico can only look forward to holding his baby in his arms. Predictably, he is going to be one protective and loving father to his daughter.

“When she is not yet aware of the world, she will have full protection and a lot of love. And two, when she is more aware, when she can make her own choices, for me it is complete freedom for her to choose what she wants and what makes her happy.”
