You Now Need An Online Appointment For Passport Courtesy Lane: How To Book OneThe Department of Foreign Affairs is looking to do all passport transactions online.by Rachel Perez .
Remember when you’d just bring your child to renew your passport and line up at the passport application’s courtesy lane? That’s no longer allowed.
The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said on Monday, June 8, that individuals who are qualified to use the courtesy lane when applying or renewing their passports now need to secure an online appointment.
Those who are qualified to use the courtesy lane are the following: senior citizens, persons with disability (PWDs), pregnant women, minors aged 7 and below, solo parents, and overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).
Foreign Affairs Undersecretary for Civilian Security Brigido Dulay said during the Laging Handa briefing that the new rule will limit the number of people at consular offices.
“The system reduces the time spent on site by courtesy lane applicants and allows a more streamlined transaction,” the DFA said.
All these services are available and being implemented in all the 36 DFA consular offices and satellites nationwide.ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW

Companions of applicants will not be permitted inside the consular office, except for those who need assistance, of which only one companion will be allowed per qualified applicant.
A similar procedure will be observed for those seeking authentication of documents. There will also be an option to have your documents delivered via courier.
The CL-OAS will also allow cashless transactions and enable courtesy lane clients to pay for passport fees and book a slot in advance.
Individuals not eligible for the courtesy lane facility can still use the regular ePassport appointment system through passport.gov.ph.ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
