Proud 'Padede Mom' Marian Rivera Donates Her Precious Liquid GoldMarian has been vocal about her commitment to breastfeeding, encouraging other moms to do the same despite the many nursing challenges they may encounter.by Rachel Perez .
Yesterday, July 9, 2019, Dingdong Dantes proudly shared on Instagram that his “superwoman” wife, Marian Rivera, shared her “thousands of milliliters of breastmilk” to infants who don’t have access to it and need it the most.
“There are many things I admire about my wife, but one of them that really makes her a superwoman in my eyes is her dedication to breastfeeding,” Dingdong wrote. “And because she is blessed with this, I salute her for choosing to donate her excess expressed milk to those who need it the most,” he added.
The dad of two knows first-hand “that producing that precious milk is not easy.” He is a witness to what his wife had to go through when she was breastfeeding daughter Zia, and again now with son Ziggy, making sure she can provide them with the gift of breast milk and all the benefits that come with breastfeeding.ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
Marian has been vocal about her commitment to breastfeeding, encouraging other moms to do the same despite the many nursing challenges they may encounter. During her first public appearance after giving birth to Ziggy in April 2019, she pumped breast milk and brought it home as pasalubong for her son.
In an Instagram Live video posted by The Parenting Emporium (TPE), through which Marian donated her breast milk, she explained her decision to share her milk. “Sobrang dami kasi [breast milk] at alam ko na maraming nangangailangan at hindi lahat ng mommy nakakapag-produce ng ganitong kadami so gusto kong i-share yung milk ko sa mga nangangailangan,” the proud ‘padede’ mom said.ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
Marian worked hard to boost her milk supply for Ziggy and build her stash for times when she’s not with her son, while Ate Zia helped look after her baby brother. “Thankful din ako kasi sobrang 100 percent talaga yung support niya sa akin,” the mom of two said. Dingdong, she said, was the one who encouraged her to donate to infants who need it the most.
Marian “willingly submitted to our screening process, which follows the national guidelines of social screening and submission of HIV and Hepa blood test results,” added TPE in its caption. It’s the same process for all nursing moms who want to donate breast milk to human milk banks.ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
One of the babies who will benefit from Marian’s breast milk donation is Baby Mati, who is fighting to grow stronger so his parents can bring him home from the NICU. “He was born too early and needs lifesaving breastmilk to combat all the life-threatening conditions of a preemie,” shared TPE on Instagram. Baby Mati’s mom is also working on increasing her breast milk supply.
The video also showed big sister Zia helping dad Dingdong pack Marian’s precious liquid gold bags in a cooler and lining it with ice packs. “We know that Zia whom they encouraged to help in the entire process will grow up remembering the generosity her parents modeled for her,” TPE added in its post.
