A hospital is the safest setting for childbirth, especially when a life-threatening complication develops, which can happen without warning. After news broke that Kapuso actors Pancho Magno and Max Collins welcomed their firstborn last July 6, 2020, the couple finally made an official announcement on their social media accounts today, sharing more details about the birth of their son and revealing his name to be Skye Anakin.

On his Instagram account, new dad Pancho uploaded a short video that chronicled the birth of their son. It confirmed that his wife Max had a water birth at home, supported by her doula and midwives.

“The force is strong with this one,” Pancho wrote as caption to the video. “To our son, Skye Anakin, you are one of the reasons why I believe in God. Can’t wait to be your best friend.”

Pancho was also in awe of Max, thanking her for her strength and for choosing an unmedicated birth.

“To my amazing wife, you are also one of the reasons why I believe in God, [heart emoji]. You did everything with no medications and no tear. There are NO WORDS to describe what you did,” he wrote.

In the video he uploaded, Pancho and Max can be seen inside the inflatable pool where the water birth took place. Both were visibly emotional — Pancho looked teary-eyed — as Max held their son for the first time. Later in the clip, Pancho can be seen cutting his son’s umbilical cord.

“I love you and your heart. You are meant to be a mother,” Pancho wrote in his caption.

He also acknowledged all the moms who went through childbirth, saying he had “much love and respect” for them.

In her Instagram account, Max also shared a photo of their son for the first time, captioning it simply with, “Good morning my Skye.”

Back in May, the actress said that her doctor had given her the go-signal to have a water birth at home. In an interview with Preview.ph, Max shared she chose it because she was anxious about the COVID-19 pandemic and "felt like I personally wouldn't be comfortable giving birth in the hospital."

She adds, “I feel like it will be an intimate, amazing experience, and I’m happy knowing that I’ll be relaxed at home and in control of my body and how I choose to give birth."
