The soon-to-be mom of three shared her first baby bump photo, and it shows her in a simple white fitted tank top cradling her belly. In her Instagram post, Nikka used the hashtag #myrainbowbaby in the caption. (“Rainbow baby" is a term people use to refer to the next baby after having had a miscarriage, which Nikka had earlier this year.) Then, Patrick posted a different version of her baby bump photo, and his caption made us swoon: "You're extra pretty when you’re pregnant!!" He knows how to take care of his wife, all right.

Bill for dissolution of marriage could replace divorce?
House of Representatives Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez drafted a bill that offers an easier and quicker way for unhappily married couples – they can just jointly petition for the dissolution of their marriage. "Gawin nating hindi painful sa parties kasi 'yung annulment painful masyado sa families kasi ang dami eh. 'Yung kabilang party aakusahan mo na merong psychological incapacity 'di ba. Dito dissolution of marriage sabihin natin both parties will agree," Alvarez said. The courts’ duty, then, would be to oversee the child custody and property division and to determine and make sure both sides are going through it willingly. If the one spousedoes not agree to dissolve the marriage, the other could still petition on the grounds of unhappiness. Alvarez insists that it's not divorce, and it will further protect the institution of marriage in the country because he claims it will drive couples to assure that they are happy. 

The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP), however, was quick to shut down the bill. "The dissolution of marriage is when the marriage bond is rendered ineffective. That is divorce — whatever you call it — in camouflage," said Lingayen-Dagupan Archbishop Emeritus Oscar Cruz, the judicial vicar of the National Appellate Matrimonial Tribunal. The CBCP has vehemently opposed the divorce bill, which is still pending in the HOR. The Divorce bill was drafted by Gabriela Women’s Party representatives in the hope of giving abused married women an out and better life. 

PWD, senior citizens get discounts for online flight bookings
The Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) has approved the 20-percetn discount for senior citizens and persons with disability (PWD) when booking flights online. The discount, which is part of the Magna Carta for Senior Citizens and persons with Different Ability, was only previously availed when booking flights in person and through ticketing branches. The CAB is now set to issue a directive and a set of guidelines to different airlines to implement the discount even for online transactions. Even after availing on the 20-percent discount online, senior citizens and PWDs would still need to present an ID during check-in for verification purposes. (abs-cbn.com)

Women with high-risk pregnancies are more prone to heart disease
Emerging research shows that heart disease is a threat to women who develop pregnancy complications such as gestational diabetes or pre-eclampsia (high blood pressure), and yet doctors may not necessarily check their heart for the long-term health.  Statistics show that they are eight times more likely to develop heart disease later in life. Also at risk are moms who deliver their babies prematurely and those whose babies are born too small. Women who have had complications in pregnancy or labor should alert their doctors and have annual screenings for high blood pressure. (npr.org)
