  • Yesterday, the actress and mom of one rushed herself to the hospital because she suddenly found it difficult to breathe. Nadine Samonte Chua is currently pregnant with baby number two, so it was even more crucial to get to the emergency room as soon as possible.

"While eating my lunch kanina, I felt there's something na parang sumasakal na sa akin inside me," Nadine wrote on Instagram. She dismissed it until she noticed that it was getting worse. "Pati paglunok ko nahihirapan na 'ko," she said.

It's the first time she experienced this, according to the mom of one, so she called her doctor and was advised to the emergency room. Nadine arrived there still catching her breath. "I'm scared because of my baby, baka makaapekto or what, I don't know," she said.

"Then finally na allergy ako sa fried chicken, which I always eat naman. Super weird," Nadine wrote. She was injected medicine and then the symptom eventually disappeared. Doctors said she needed to be admitted to the hospital, but she chose to go home instead.

Research showed that a lot of women reported developing allergies during or after pregnancy. Netizens also shared in the comments of her Instagram post their similar experiences of getting an allergy from chicken or nuts temporarily, during pregnancy.

During her first pregnancy, Nadine was candid about having antiphospholipid antibody syndrome (APAS) and polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). She and her husband Richard Chua had tests done after finding out that they're expecting their second child.

"I'm praying na sana wala na pero kung meron pa I'm still thankful kay Lord kasi my pregnancy right now is really unexpected," she wrote as a caption of a previous post. As it turns out, she would still need daily heparin shots, but Nadine remains optimistic.

"I'm not complaining, and I know this will be another beautiful journey for me because he/she is beautiful. Thank you, Lord," she wrote.

On being pregnant the second time around, Nadine has nothing but gratitude. "Sobrang bait talaga ni Lord sa amin, sobrang salamat po kasi sa case ko na hirap na hirap ako mabuntis but now super biglaan."

God had already blessed them with an advanced anniversary gift, and they are looking forward anew to her pregnancy journey, this time alongside daughter Heather, who just turned 2 last August.

The soon-to-be mama of two sent a message to her supporters and to the women who have been trying to conceive. "Don't lose hope. I know how hard it is to have a baby. I've been there. I really got depressed, but that didn't stop me [from looking forward to having] an amazing child." Nadine wrote.

Prayer, she said, helped a lot. "It may not come right away but remember God knows when the perfect timing is. Never ever give up and have faith. Trust and believe in him; it will come," she added.
