On the day she turned 41, Rica Peralejo-Bonifacio was having "my birthday coffee in one of the best places" in the Philippines.
The actress-turned-digital content creator said so in an Instagram post, dated March 7, 2022 and geotagged at Punong Gary's Place in Silay City, Negros Occidental. Based on her earlier posts, she and her husband Joseph Bonifacio, along with their two kids Philip and Manu have been vacationing in the Western Visayan province.
Rica then recalled in her caption, "Three years ago I was asking God to take me already. And for three years I kept asking; it was a struggle to find any reason to live except for that my youngest was still breastfeeding."
She added, shifting her tone to optimism, "Today I woke up asking the Lord for long life. There is so much to do and I am already 41."
Smart Parenting's editor-in-large explained in reflection: "Thinking things you hardly think about on your 18th or 21st birthdays. Like wanting to correct the past ten or so years that I’ve been living my life."

"In that case you’d understand why I want a longer life," she wrote, punctuated with a tears of joy emoji. Since there are only very years in it where I felt right and truly in the direction of God.
"But also… it is the very story of God’s sovereignty. All my mistakes accounted for, and also all mistakes of others thrown in the mix and still, God’s plans come through. He cannot be deterred by my shortcomings. He is too big for all that has gone wrong put together."
Thus, Rica concluded: "At 41 I say life is this. The continuing story of falling short, doing your best, and all the while God doing His Holy Thing. And always, He wins. There really is so much comfort in being on the side of the One Who Wins."
In her Instagram Stories, the birthday girl reposted some of the greetings she had received not only for herself but also for her husband. Apparently, Every Nation Philippines' pastor and campus missionary was celebrating his own birthday as well.
