Having a baby is a beautiful experience, but it can also be a challenging one. This is a lesson that celebrity mama Rica Peralejo-Bonifacio is learning now, but she still chooses to look at the bright side of things!
In a post on October 21, 2019, Rica shared a photo of her two kids, Philip and Manu, along with an update on how they are recovering from their recent bout with the flu.
“Finally, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel,” Rica wrote. “Totoo pala na matatapos din ang sakit namin. Kasi about a week ago akala ko forever na to eh!!!
“We are not completely well yet but we are getting there.”

“For one, I have to understand that M and Kuya are super not the same people. They eat differently, move differently, and are even comforted differently!!!” She also wrote, “Naloko kami ng mga panganay namin, thinking na madali lang ang pagaanak.”

Despite these challenges, Rica still chooses to be optimistic and believe that the “strength and will” of Manu will help him as he grows up.
“This does not mean M is less celebrated in our home — perhaps more challenging, yes, but in a very good way,” Rica said. “The lesson I am learning right now with M is that I need to be very careful about not putting out that strength and will he displays because these are his gifts. These are the very things that he will use one day as he accomplishes the mission God has for him.

Rica has also talked about the challenges of caring for her new baby in other posts, writing that Manu doesn’t like staying in his stroller or being strapped to her chest. The celebrity mom also revealed that her second son needs to be swayed to fall asleep.
Still, Rica chose to “see the gift in every challenge,” which helped relieve her stress. She said that always carrying Manu allows her to spend less time on social media while swaying him gives her the chance to squeeze in some exercise without having to go to the gym!

She also gave a shout-out to other moms who are experiencing breastfeeding struggles: “You are not alone!!! Hugs from me!!!”
