Only ten more weeks to go before Solenn Heussaff and husband Nico Bolzico welcome the new addition to their family, a baby girl! Since they announced the pregnancy, the actress who loves to cook and bake has received a lot of requests for recipes of lactating cookies, cakes, bread, and more.
“I don’t know what lactating anything was,” Solenn admitted to her friend Bianca King, who joined her in making her lactation bread. “Obviously, the bun is still in the oven, so I am not at the stage yet,” the 28-week preggo said, referring to breastfeeding.
But Solenn did some research, and she noticed that many lactating recipes contain flaxseed or flaxseed oil, brewer’s yeast, and coconut milk. The latter, she explained, is for good for hydration, which nursing women need to produce milk.
Based on her research, Solenn came up with her very own Olive Oil and Lemon Lactation Bread. She already teased everyone about it back in September 2019. Here’s what you’ll need:
For the dry ingredients, you’ll need all-purpose flour, ground almonds, baking soda, baking powder, salt, brewer’s yeast, brown sugar, and flax seeds. For the wet ingredients, prepare olive oil, mixed all-purpose cream and coconut cream, organic eggs, lemon, and lemon zest. Topping include fresh blueberries and powdered sugar
Basically, just mix all the dry ingredients together and then all the wet ingredients separately first. Then, put the dry into the wet ingredients and combine them all together. Don’t forget to place cake liners before you put your batter in a baking pan.

Bake your bread for about 15 minutes, and take it out of the oven. It should still be a little wet on top, so you can add fresh blueberries. Return the pan in the oven and bake for another 35 minutes. Once it’s done, let it cool. Then, dust it off with powdered sugar, and you’re ready to serve. (Head to solenn.ph for the full recipe.)
