Doctors Are In: St. Luke's Reopens Outpatient Clinics For Non-COVID-19 ConsultationsFinally, you can see your doctor in person for necessary consultations.
Starting May 20, 2020, St. Luke’s Medical Center (SLMC) will open its outpatient clinics in Bonifacio Global City and Quezon City for non-COVID cases, while elective surgical cases (minor surgeries and medical non-emergencies) will resume on May 18, 2020.
A public advisory signed by Dr. Arturo S. De La Pena, the president and CEO of St. Luke's Medical Center, says that both SLMC branches are open to accepting non-COVID patients and will allow face-to-face consultations as long as an appointment is scheduled.ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
For safety measures, SLMC has set hospital zoning, protocols, and guidelines which ensures everyone’s safety, including ensuring COVID-19 patients are isolated from non-COVID patients and regular screening for all of their healthcare workers for COVID-19. Surgeons and patients will be tested, too, and they will have to be cleared by the Infectious Disease Team before proceeding with any surgical procedure.CONTINUE READING BELOWRecommended Videos
Besides these protocols, physical distancing and infection control measures will be enforced inside the institution.
SLMC also offers teleconsultations, a new service they announced last May 11 through a Facebook post. Anyone who still feels it is unsafe to go to the hospital, these consultations may be carried out remotely between the doctor and patient.
The Global City branch handles the Department of Psychiatry, Eye Institute, Heart Institute, Institute for Neurosciences, Institute of Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, Pain Management, and Rheumatology.
