Aside from the month of June being a wedding month for many Filipinos, it is also a special month for fathers as the nation paid tribute to the main man in their lives during Father’s Day. Being known for having close family ties, it is no wonder that the Philippines gave huge importance to this celebration, with the country ranking number 4 in the world in terms of searches for “father’s day” according to Google Insights for Search.
This month, Google lists the top 10 Filipino dads who grabbed the greatest online mindshare in 2011. Below are the top 10 fastest-rising Filipino dads for 2011.
At the top of the list is former Philippine Defense Secretary Angelo Reyes who passed away on February 8 and was given full military honors during his burial in Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City. He is a father to five sons and a husband to Teresita Pernia Reyes. Meanwhile, popular Magic 89.9 DJ, Mo Twister, who has a child with ex-girlfriend Bunny Paras, made news this year because of his relationship with actress Rhian Ramos. Wedding videographer Jason Magbanua gained media mileage this year after developing Maggie Wilson and Victor Consunji’s controversial prenup video late last year, and Starstruck finalist Paulo Avelino created a buzz after his girlfriend and fellow Starstruck alumna, LJ Reyes, gave birth to their child.
