  • There's A "Game of Thrones" Coloring Book! (Yes, That's Right.)

Don’t worry; it’s not for kids--it's for you, mom and dad!
  • If you haven't yet, you can now add "coloring time" as a bonding activity with your kids. But if you're coloring this new book, be careful not to show it to them or be prepared to answer questions.

Parents who are fans of the books and the HBO series now have something new to look forward to until the next book is out, or until the next season airs. The Official A Game of Thrones Coloring Book is coming.

Back in June, Bantam Books announced that author George R.R. Martin is overseeing a coloring book based on his popular saga A Song of Ice and Fire. The adult coloring book will feature 45 new black-and-white illustrations by different leading fantasy illustrators such as Yvonne Gilbert, John Howe, Tomislav Tomic, Adam Stower, and Levi Pinfold.

Here's a first look at the cover:

The coloring book’s description, as posted on Amazon, is in sync with the story’s tone:

In a world where weddings are red, fire is green, and debts are paid in gold, countless images leap off the page thanks to the eye-popping intricacy of the vivid settings and details. Now, for the first time, fans of this blockbuster saga can fill in the blanks and marvel as this meticulously imagined universe comes to life, one sword, sigil, and castle at a time. With dozens of stunning original black-and-white illustrations from world-renowned illustrators Yvonne Gilbert, John Howe, Tomislav Tomić, Adam Stower, and Levi Pinfold, this unique collector’s item expands the reach of an international phenomenon with flying colors.

And the timing is just perfect as the adult coloring-book craze is on an upswing. Hopefully, the characters or the scenes that might be depicted in the coloring book are as just as therapeutic as the other adult coloring books on sale. Nonetheless, stock up on red, orange, and black crayons now.

This is Martin’s interim project while he’s finishing the sixth book in his saga. Last year, he worked on an illustrated guide entitled The World of Ice and Fire: The Untold History of Westeros and the Game of Thrones.

The Official A Game of Thrones Coloring Book is set to be released this October 27, and you can pre-order on Amazon
