This Dad Builds Awesome Playhouses Including Riley Curry's Barn!

As parents who have spent a considerate amount of time watching our children run around the playground, we’re all familiar with playhouses. 

Playhouses are often times made of hard plastic with a little swinging door, perhaps two little windows and, if the children are lucky, a space inside where they can do pretend play. But we bet you’ve never seen playhouses like Charmed Playhouses. 

Started by former landscaper and dad-of-three Tyson Leavitt, Charmed Playhouses are any child’s dream. They have playhouses inspired by quaint lodges, retro diners, cupcake parlors, Rapunzel’s tower, Captain Hook from Peter Pan’s pirate ship and even a Hobbit hole. 

“We believe that every child deserves a place to play and let their imagination run wild,” reads the Charmed Playhouse philosophy according to Metro. “From slaying dragons to hosting lavish tea parties, every child needs a space to have some fun.”

They definitely live up to that philosophy. The hard work, attention to detail and craftsmanship put into every project shows in each finished product. That's why Charmed has landed projects for big names like Riley Curry, daughter of basketball superstar Stephen Curry.

Here's a sketch of the Curry playhouse, which has a barn/stable theme (Riley loves horses) and complements the Cutty family's Spansh-style home.   

What’s more, each of the playhouses are unique--no two are alike since each one is custom-built according to what the family wants. Charmed collaborates with Visbeen Architects to come up with blueprints for each playhouse so they can look like they’ve just popped out of fairytale book or match the look of the rest of the house. 

These top-notch luxury playhouses come with a price, of course. “We have playhouses that are $7,000 (P315,000), and we have playhouses that are over $100,000 (P4.5 million),” Canada-based Leavitt told Buzzfeed. “It’s not up to us. The ideas come from our clients.”

He and his team of 15 have built 20 of these fancy playhouses so far and there are more are on the waiting list. And you can bet each one was and will be tested by Charmed "playhouse experts," who are Leavitt's kids.
