  • We can all agree that there's a good side and a bad side to every person. But in this age of technology, social media seems to bring out the worst in people.

No one knows this to be true more than celebrities whose lives are an open book through their public accounts on the world wide web. Case in point: Nikka Garcia, wife of actor Patrick Garcia and mom to daughters Michelle, Patrice, and Pia, has had to deal with not just a few criticisms thrown at her by strangers through her Instagram account. A private individual before she and Patrick became a couple, Nikka had to learn the ways of show business, especially after she married Patrick. However, she draws the line when bashers go overboard and involve her kids, as in these three instances:

In September 2016, Nikka shared screenshots of a private message she received from a netizen, which was full of insults directed at her and her kids. The sender also made harsh comparisons between her and Jennylyn Mercado, Patrick's ex-girlfriend, and with whom he has a son, after accusing Nikka of stealing Jennylyn's man.

To this, Nikka indirectly replied: "Lord I am secure with you. Please continue to strengthen me when people try to cause pain and anger. Keep me still in your word so as not to respond to such hurtful words...Actually super long her message...I dunno I try to understand how someone can be so hateful. I wish them all the best nevertheless! God bless you more!

In March 2017, it was learned that Nikka had suffered a miscarriage after Patrick gave her a message of encouragement through an Instagram post. She was apparently three months pregnant when she lost the baby, who was to be the couple's third child. While many friends and fans commiserated with them, a less sympathetic comment posted on Smartparenting.com.ph's Facebook page caught the ire of Nikka. It read: "Hindi kasi deserved [sic] ni Patrick magkaanak ulit dahil sa ginawa nya kay Jennelyn [Jennylyn] Mercado. Karma has arrived obviously. You got what you deserved."

Nikka responded to it by saying, "What a very painful thing to say. From someone who knows nothing about what truly [happened] between my husband and Jennylyn! I wish you never go through what we went through. God bless you always Yeth." She added, "Please watch what you say. karma might just hit you because of the hurtful things you are saying now."

A month later, Nikka became pregnant again, and she gave birth to Francisca Pia on December 27, 2017.

Intrigues continue to hound Nikka, however. Just recently, when she posted a family picture on Instagram, Pep.ph reports that a netizen accused her of being a "bad step mom to Jazz," Patrick's 11-year-old son with Jennylyn. It also said, "You can not have son because you're personalitty [sic] is very bad."

Nikka could not help but respond with a clapback: "huwow. Nagsalita ang pinaka gwapa!? I cannot have a son??? Why, are you God? Let’s see muna! I have a long way to go to make more babies. Besides, boy or girl, they are blessings and I cannot be more grateful I was given THREE precious beautiful ones.” The said exchange seems to have been deleted already.

Nonetheless, Nikka still wished the netizen well. She said in another comment, "A reminder to me that this world is truly a fallen place. Kailangan talaga natin ang Panginoon."
