Toni Gonzaga says weight gain and dark skin spots were big issues for her post-birth

The host and actress admitted on the ABS-CBN morning talk show Magandang Buhay that she was worried and saddened by the weight gain and dark skin spots she had after giving birth to her first child, son Seve. Toni said she gained 36 pounds during her pregnancy, but has returned to her 100-pound pre-pregnant weight. Her sister Alex helped her deal with these issues. "Katherine [Alex's real name], tignan mo yung katawan mo sa salamin. Tignan mo yung katawan mo, pang-dalaga. Iyong akin, wala na, pang-nanay na," Toni would lament, to which, Alex responded, "Ang OA talaga. Talaga namang nanay ka na." Her sister also teased her about dark circles under her eyes and dark armpits. Their Mommy Pinty told Toni not to worry, and assured her that in time, the dark spots would lighten. Beauty Gonzalez's daughter Olivia Ines celebrates first birthday

The Kapamilya actress's daughter Olivia Ines just turned 1! To celebrate, Beauty and her partner Norman Crisologo threw her an art-themed party over the weekend at White Space in Makati City. It was Olivia's daddy who thought of the theme, since he's an art curator. "Happy birthday our little girl!! You have made our lives more meaningful. You make us happy. We promise to take good care of you," was Beauty's birthday greeting to her daughter on Instagram. A number of the couple's celebrity friends attended the event, including couple Julius and Christine Babao with their son Nio, Jodi Sta. Krista Ranillo welcomes fourth child to the Christian world

"Welcoming baby Nash to the Christian world. My family and I are so lucky to have such wonderful people who are godparents to our son. They all shower him with so much love and will be great role models for him as he grows up," the former actress wrote on Instagram. Krista also thanked Bishop Oscar Solis who baptized son Nash Archibald, and their family and friends who celebrated with them. "Our hearts are full of love," she added. The daughter of actor Mat Ranillo III left showbiz in 2010, and chose to live a quiet life with her husband, supermarket CEO Nino Jeff Lim, in California. They welcomed Nash on August 18 last year. Krista and Nino are also parents to Nate Jacob, 5, Nolan Jayden, 3, and Natalie Lourdes, 2. On another Instagram post, the 32-year-old mother wrote, "I know sometimes it's a little too much because I feel like I can't breathe with four young kids, but I try to remind myself to enjoy them while they're little. PHL's first Sunflower Maze to open this month!

Pangasinan's Allied Botanical Corporation (ABC), a farm-seed breeder and distributor that's been around since 1984, is set to open a 2,100-square-meter Sunflower Maze on its three-hectare farm. Less than four hours away from Manila, it would make a good stop-over on your way to Baguio City for the Panagbenga Festival. The idea to build the maze, which was made in collaboration with landscape designer Toni Rivera, came from the company's president, horticulturist Michael Caballes, as part of ABC's efforts to promote sunflower seeds as high-value flowers that growers can profit from. ABC's farm will also open an Urban and Edible Landscape Garden where people can pick vegetables and fruits, collect them in their own bayong, and then pay for their harvest. LTFRB grants P1 jeepney fare hike; taxi base fare back at P40
The Land Transportation Fare and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) granted a P1-increase in public utility jeepneys’ minimum fare, effective only in Metro Manila, Central Luzon and CALABARZON (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) areas. The jeepney fare increase is only applicable to the base fare, and the succeeding rate per kilometer remains at P1.50. The petitions of transport groups, including FEJODAP, ACTO and Pasang Masda, cited the increasing price of petroleum products throughout 2016 as a reason to increase the minimum jeepney fare to P8 from P7. The LTFB also ordered Metro Manila's taxi flag-down rates to be reverted to P40. Early last year, the LTFRB brought down provisionally the flag-down rate in taxicabs to P30, but rescinded the move a month later due to complaints from various transport organizations. The P30-flag-down rate has not been followed by most drivers because their meters had not been calibrated to reflect the change. (inquirer.net)
