“When we decided to stay together for life, we decided to have this baby,” Dra. Vicki Belo told Inquirer.net. However, when they both found a way to be a family via surrogacy, Vicki said having Scarlet has even strengthened their bond. “For me, this is a wonderful time to have a child. I have the time and money. And Hayden has been the best dad ever. We talk about life now more and more, and we’re on the same page because of Scarlet," she added. Eiki, in an interview with CBS Local a day after the live birth, said her partner only knows that they shared "something to be happy about". He did it because he had noticed that his Facebook feed is full of negative posts, so he decided it would be cool to post something different. On his Facebook account, he also said he decided to live-stream the birth to share the magical moment with his family around the globe. He also replied to positive comments, thanking the people for "enjoying the gift of life with me." The 45-minute video has already racked up 103,000 views so far. (huffingtonpost.com)
