1. Nadine Samonte a happy preggy despite difficult pregnancy
The mom-to-be recently revealed that she has Antiphospholipid Antibody Syndrome or APAS, an autoimmune disorder that can cause blood clots to form in the veins and arteries, causing pregnancy complications like miscarriage or stillbirth. To manage her condition, Nadine explained, "I take 53 tablets a day--30 tablets for amino acids. Bukod pa yung injection ko na Heparin for my APAS para sa blood clot." While the pregnancy has been difficult and expensive, Nadine said it has all been worth it. "I'm super-super ready na!" she said during opening of Baby Company in SM Megamall last Saturday, August 6. 2. Baby Zia Dantes starts school?
Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera told Pep.ph that she and husband Dingdong Dantes have enrolled their daughter in music school. Describing what the classes will be like, Marian Rivera explained, "About music lang naman, mingling sa ibang mga bata. Halimbawa, sounds like a bird, ipapakita yung book ng bird. 'It’s a bird. Tapos, tweet, tweet,'" Baby Zia is barely a year old, but her mom is looking at the classes as a way to develop her little girl's social skills. "Ayoko naman na kapag nilalabas ko siya, takot siya sa tao. Gusto ko namang ma-develop ang personality niya," she added. Marian also said that once Zia turns 1, she will have swimming and piano lessons, too. 3. Kim Kardashian post video of son Saint laughing
In a video posted by mom reality star Kim Kardashian West, the little 8-month-old boy is seen laughing uncontrollably his heart out as her mom tickles him with a little stuffed animal. The mom-of-two's social media posts about her son has been more frequent these days as he nears his first birthday. Last week, she uploaded a giggling video of Saint on her Snapchat, and another one of him using the bee filter. (people.com)

In honor of the Olympics, Disney released two TV spots for its upcoming movie Moana. The first one is entitled "Light the Torch" and shows Moana (played by Auli'i Cravalho) cheering on the once-mighty demigod and shape shifter Maui (played by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson). The unlikely duo are off to an adventure of sailing the open oceans. The movie will feature songs by Lin-Manuel Miranda (Hamilton), Opetaia Foa'I and mark Mancina. 5. Filipino students top Singapore Math contest
Filipinos students bagged 208 medals and 120 merit awards to emerge on top at the recently held 12th International Mathematics Contest (IMC) held from July 29 to August 1 in Singapore. The Philippine team won 26 gold medals, 50 silver, and 132 bronze medals and beat contestants from 12 other countries. According to team leaders Dr. Isidro Aguilar and Dr. Eduardo dela Cruz, officers of the Mathematics Trainers Guild (MTG)-Philippines, for the first time also, the country produced two champions. These are Julian Raymund Yu of British School Manila for Grade 9 and Jarrett Ian Lim of the Philippine Academy of Sakya for Grade 10. Way to go, kids! (rappler.com)
