2. "Work-at-home" Act proposed in Congress
House Bill (HB) 4291, or the proposed Work-at-Home Act of 2016, has been filed in Congress by AKO BICOL partylist representatives Rodel Batocabe, Alfredo Garbin, Jr., and Christopher Co, with a primary aim of decongesting traffic in Metro Manila. Rep. Batocabe also stressed that the proposed set-up will benefit employers “because it will save the company on utility costs during days when many employees are working at home, using their own electricity and water utility”.
