    Just a few weeks before they tie the knot it November, the soon-to-be-wed couple was treated to a brunch wedding shower at Discovery Country Suites in Tagaytay. The wedding shower was arranged by their closest friends, led by lifestyle blogger Patty Laurel. Nikki shared photos of the get-together on Instagram, captioning one with: “So much looooove from dear friends at the #knottinggilbrunch yesterday.” She said that everything was perfect, even the weather. “Haaay my heart. Thank you,” she added. Nikki also had a “watercolor workshop” bridal shower afterwards. (abs-cbnnews.com)

    2. Hayden Panettiere seeks treatment for postpartum depression
    The “Nashville” star and “Heroes” alum had voluntarily entered a treatment center to help her deal with postpartum depression (PPD). Hayden Panettiere is a mom to 10-month-old daughter Kay Evodokia with fiancé professional boxer Wladimir Klitschko. She has been candid about her struggle with PPD since she gave birth. She said in an interview on "Live! With Kelly and Michael," “There’s a lot of misunderstanding — there’s a lot of people out there that think that it’s not real, that it’s not true, that it’s something that’s made up in their minds, that ‘Oh, it’s hormones.’ They brush it off. It’s something that’s completely uncontrollable. It’s really painful and it’s really scary and women need a lot of support.” (people.com)

    3. Cruella de Vil gets her own live-action movie
    After making a movie that focused on the Sleeping Beauty villainess Maleficent, the new Disney live-action film that explores the life of a villain, aptly entitled "Cruella," is about the fur coat-obsessed villain.     UNICEF announced a new partnership with retail giant Target to sell a child-friendly fitness band to help kids in the U.S. become more active while also saving the lives of malnourished children around the globe. UNICEF Kid Power’s child-friendly fitness bands challenge kids to reach different fitness goals and learn about new cultures. When they achieve a goal, they earn points that are equivalent to life-saving therapeutic food packages that the UNICEF delivers to families with malnourished kids in developing countries.  (mashable.com)

    5. First in utero stem cell test to begin in U.K. and Sweden
    For the first time in January, doctors would try to treat babies while they’re still inside their mother’s womb. These babies in utero will receive stem cells to help treat brittle bone disease. Doctors hope that stem cells from terminated pregnancies, which could work in many tissues, could also alleviate the symptoms of the disease. Brittle bone disease affects 1 in every 25,000 births and is caused by a genetic mutation. It causes severe pain and broken bones, and could also result in complications such as bone fractures and hearing loss. (nydailynews.com)
