2. Ovarian cancer is less deadly that previously thought
Good news: A new study published in the Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology found that one in three women with ovarian cancer will live for ten years or more, and states that it’s not true that all women who are diagnosed with the disease will die from it. Researchers tracked survival information of more than 11,000 women diagnosed with the most common form of ovarian cancer, and majority of them lived to be more than 50 years old. It’s not surprising that survival favored women who were diagnosed early and had less aggressive tumors. (huffingtonpost.com)

5. Pre-teen girl as a superhero? Marvel says yes!
Comic book giant Marvel has a new superhero, and her name is Lunella Lafayette. She is a brainy pre-teen girl with “unpredictable alien DNA” and, together with Devil Dinosaur, is a superhero in “Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur.” The new comic book is a re-imagining of a short-lived 1978 comic centered on a T-rex and his caveman-like friend Moon Boy. “Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur” is a move to reach younger audiences, as Marvel realized it lacked characters that kids could relate to. It also aims to create comic book that both adults and kids would love. (mashable.com)
