2. Ikea recalls child’s room nightlight
The Swedish furniture giant is recalling the popular Patrull nightlight after a reported incident in Austria. A young child attempted to unplug the nightlight from the electrical outlet and its plastic detached, shocking the child and causing a minor hand injury. The Patrull nightlight, which automatically turns on in the dark, has been available in North America and Europe since August 2013. U.K. photographer Hellen Aller took a photo of a mom and her three-day-old baby boy next to her C-section scar for the mom to remember the operation that saved her baby’s life. She had planned for a vaginal birth but had to have an emergency C-section due to complications. Hellen said, “[She] wanted something to show that her biggest fear was what in the end saved both of them. I think she will see that scar and appreciate the life they were given. I can’t believe the amount of women that are ashamed of their scars and made to feel like they haven’t done the job properly because they didn’t give birth naturally.” (boredpanda.com)
4. Hackers release AshleyMadison.com data, according to reports
After failing to fulfill its end of the bargain -— that is, taking down AshleyMadison.com and EtablishedMen.com —- Avid Life Media, the company behind these websites, would have to suffer the consequences. Several tech websites reported yesterday that the hackers, who call themselves Impact Team, had released online huge cache of data that was stolen from the adultery website a few months ago. According to tech website Wired, 9.7 gigabytes of data was posted and it appeared to include member accounts and credit card details. (gmanetwork.com)
