    3. Newborn testing gets critical breakthrough
For the first time, researchers can now sequence the genomes of newborns with mystery conditions in a matter of 26 hours. Results of the test could allow doctors to help babies who have a health condition. It would normally take almost 50 hours for geneticists to sequence their genomes. How the new test works is detailed in a paper published in the journal Genome Medicine. (time.com)

    4. Doctors are advised not to delay miscarriage
Diagnosis of early miscarriage should be delayed to avoid the risk of terminating healthy babies, experts in the U.K said. During the first trimester, doctors should carry out a second scan 14 days after the first one, instead of just seven days. A new study published in the British Medical Journal found that there was a risk that healthy pregnancies could be terminated because not enough time has passed between the tests. Pregnant women who experience pain or bleeding in the first trimester, when miscarriages often happen, should ask for a second scan if it's not offered. (mirror.co.uk)

    5. Washing the dishes is a great stres reliever
It turns out that washing the dishes mindfully can significantly lower your stress levels, according to researchers at the Florida State University. In the small study, those who washed the dishes while smelling the soap or feeling the temperature of the water increased their mindfulness by 25 percent and lowered their nervousness by 27 percent. Washing the dishes with intentionality contributed to increasing the overall state of mindfulness, and therefore also upped the general well-being of the person. Researchers suggest that everyday activity when done with intentionality and awareness have positive benefits. (time.com)
