5. Ikea to stop selling accident-prone dresser
The furniture giant has agreed to stop selling the Malm line of dressers that has been cited in the deaths of three children as it topples too easily unless anchored to a wall. Ikea said it was "the right thing to do" after a third toddler fatality was reported, long after distributing more than 300,000 repair kids last year and warning consumers to anchor the dresser to a wall. "It is clear that there are still unsecured products in customers’ homes," the company said via a statement. Ikea has taken off the said larger Malm design dressers, only leaving a smaller two-drawer model for sale on its website. It will also offer to refund millions who have bought the furniture.
