The singer-actress is now officially engaged to non-showbiz boyfriend, businessman BJ Albert. After dodging questions about what looked like an engagement ring that she wore to lots of public appearances, she finally announced the good news. The two both studied in Ateneo and go to the same church but were never introduced until 2013 by a common friend. BJ proposed to Nikki on December 13, 2014 -- 12/13/14 -- and she said yes! 2. Pope says spanking is ok, as long as... Pope Francis says it’s okay for parents to spank their kids “as long as their dignity is maintained.” In the same speech, His Holiness also outlined the traits of a good father: one who forgives but is able to correct while not discouraging the child. New flight advice for pregnant travelers New advice from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologist (ROCG) says that the safest time to fly when pregnant is before 37 weeks or, if carrying twins, before 32 weeks (previously, it was before 34 weeks). The ROCG also said flying is not harmful during low-risk pregnancy but there may be side effects and offers recommendations of how to manage these, among other guidelines and tips. (bbc.com)
4. Ashlee Simpson is having a girl! Parents-to-be Ashlee Simpson and Evan Ross confirmed she’s expecting in December of last year, and now that she already knows the sex of her baby -- a girl -- she can finally get started on fixing the baby’s nursery. This will be her first child with Evan; she is already mom to son Bronx Mowgli, 6, with ex-husband Pete Wentz. (people.com)

Woman delivers 14-pound baby Maxxandra Ford of Tampa, Florida, gave birth on January 29 to son Avery Denton, weighing 14 pounds and one ounce -— officially making him the largest baby to be born in Florida. Maxxandra has a daughter, 5, and son, 1, and claims she didn’t even realize she was expecting until about 35 weeks into her pregnancy. (nydailynews.com)
