It's was another accidental twinning for Paula Peralejo and Rica Peralejo. The sisters both have a bun in the oven. This is Rica's second pregnancy. She and husband Joseph Bonifacio are already parents to their son Philip. For Paula and husband Charlie Fernandez, this pregnancy is a first. "Both expecting! Woohoo! It's gonna be a chaotic year, and we couldn't have taken a better photo together than at El Nido's twin beach!" Paula wrote as caption to her Instagram post. [UPDATE] Just two hours after we posted the story above, Rica Peralejo announced on her blog that she sadly lost the baby on Tuesday, March 2. She wrote, "I am not sure if I will [publicly] write about it again, but I am doing what I can now to inform people who care. Many celebrated with us when we announced the 'twin pregnancy' of my sister and I getting pregnant at the same time. So I feel it is only apt to inform you guys of the sad news, to honor the joy you shared with me. (In other news, Paula is in great shape! She and her baby are doing just fine, praise God!)."
Rica said doctors told her the cause may have been "a developmental problem." The size of the baby remained the same despite the six-week-gap from her first ultrasound. Our hearts go out to Rica and her family through this very painful time. Read the rest of her blog post here.
3. New royal baby alert!
The Swedish Royal family welcomes a new addition! Crown Princess Victoria gave birth to a healthy baby boy at 8:30 pm on Wednesday. Proud new dad Prince Daniel couldn't hold back his tears as he announced his son's birth. He explained that he and the princess wanted the baby's gender to be a surprise, and he was delighted to see that he has a little mini-me. Aww. Both mom and baby are doing great. The royal couple are already parents to four-year-old Princess Estelle. Congratulations! (people.com)
4. U.K. company first to offer "period leave"
Yes, Coexist, a community interest U.K. company that has a predominantly female workforce, offers their female employees the option to take a leave if they have their period. The period leave policy aims to increase productivity, as many women suffer from painful menstruation. "They feel guilty and ashamed for taking time off and often sit at their desks in silence not wanting to acknowledge it. It started from there and we thought we had to see what we could do about it and try and break the last great taboo," Bex Baxter, one of the Coexist directors said. (telegraph.co.uk)
5. Did you know you could be jailed for posting a photo of your child on Facebook?
In France, that is. French legal experts posed a warning to parents that they could end up paying fines or worse, spending time in jail, for posting pictures of their kids on the social-media site. We're taking about fines that amount to 35,000 British pounds or a whole year in prison. This is due to France strict privacy laws that would allow their kids to sue their parents for breaching their privacy or endangering their security online.
