  • 1. Sunshine Cruz's child abuse case vs estranged husband Cesar Montano junked

The Quezon City Prosecutor's office dismissed actress Sunshine Cruz's child abuse case against her estranged husband, actor Cesar Montano, due to lack of probable cause. Cruz filed the case after learning about an alleged "indecent act" that Montano did in front of their daughters last year, which caused "distress, psychological and emotional violence". According to the prosecutor's office, the kids were not present to give evidence or authenticate the letter on which the actress related how she knew about the alleged incident. Cruz said she and her daughters were shocked by the decision to junk the case because the kids were not given the chance to testify. She also added that her lawyer is already working to appeal the case. (pep.ph)

But when the women make an informed choice not to breastfeed, the doctors need to respect that decision and still support them in their choice. (theglobeandmail.com)

    5. Australia's House of Representative will now allow infant feeding sessions in the chamber
That includes both breastfeeding and bottle-feeding an infant by members of the parliament. The existing law prohibits "visitors" from entering the chamber, which led to some members of the parliament objecting when another member brought a baby to work. The word "visitor" will now be clearly redefined to exclude infants in need of care. The revised law -- which makes the House of Representatives the "most family-friendly chamber of any parliament in Australia" -- also covers men who will have childcare responsibilities.
