  • A little more than a month after she announced that she’s expecting her second baby, Valerie “Bangs” Garcia flaunted her 21-week baby bump in a two-piece, no less.

“It’s this time of my life again.” the soon-to-be mama of two wrote on Instagram. “Let me begin my first #pregnantselfie this time at five months,” Bangs added.

The London-based Filipina actress said her “first four months hadn’t been as smooth as” as when she was pregnant with daughter Amelia in 2017. Bangs didn’t give more details about why the first trimester of her second pregnancy is more challenging. It’s nice to see she’s now up and about.

On February 15, 2020, post-Valentine’s Day, Bangs announced that she and husband Lloyd Birchmore are pregnant with their second child and is already four months along the way. Two-year-old Amelia is going to be a big sister in July.

Why a baby bump looks firmer during the first pregnancy

Every pregnancy is different . Aside from having a more difficult first trimester, Bangs also noted another difference between her first and second pregnancies, which may hold true for all women.

“Could you see how much firmer I used to be?” the preggo mom wrote with a laughing emoji. “My baby bump used to be so much higher, and my belly button didn’t have a pocket yet,” Bangs pointed out.

The difference between first-time baby bumps and second or succeeding ones is, let’s just say, due to “exprience.”

A second-time preggo’s abdominal muscles and skin had experience expanding before. As such, they’re never quite as taut ever again. It’s also the reason why second-time preggos show so much sooner compared to when they were the first pregnancy.

“Nonetheless, I do enjoy my pregnancies and being a mother in general,” Bang assured.

The preggo mama noted another change in her pregnancy journey. This time around, she has an adorable and “frequent photobomber” on her pregnancy photos. Of course, it’s no other than daughter Amelia.

During her first pregnancy, Bangs documented her body changes during pregnancy and after giving birth. We’re looking forward to more preggy selfies with Ate Amelia.
