It has been a month since the video of kids gatecrashing their dad's live interview on BBC went viral, and while there are tons of material on the Internet inspired by four-year-old Marion and eight-month-old James, we still couldn't get enough of them. When we got word that their dad, Professor Robert Kelly, is coming to the Philippines next week for a lecture on South Korea, our first thought was: Will he be bringing the kids with him? (We hope and pray!)
And it seems we're not alone -- the Internet had been clamoring for more appearances of the family (Marion, in particular), and this week, our prayers have been answered. There is now an animated TV show inspired by the Kelly kids!

On April 17, Hans House Productions released the very first episode of The Adventures of Mina and Jack, "a mischievous duo who can't help but get into trouble...and on the news," according to its YouTube description. The first episode, like all pilots, introduces the characters, with Marion... er, Mina taking the lead.
Jack, of course, is in his walker and follows Mina everywhere. Mom's favorite thing is "yogurt, but I think her real favorite thing is stretching like a cat on the mat," Mina says. As for their beloved dad, he has "a very important job at the 'un'" -- the U.N., actually, or a version of the United Nations.
Overhearing their father mention a crisis on the phone -- a gold thief at large -- Mina and Jack set out to help him solve the case. The dynamic duo sneaks out of their hotel, hitches a ride on an elephant, and winds up in a bustling African market, only to tumble into a nearby U.N. press conference and inadvertently saves the day.
Mina believes she and her brother have crucial roles in helping their dad do his job. Instead of being a political expert, it seems his job in the series is to catch criminals. And mom, well ... she does here one of the things she does best -- go after the kids and corral them to safety, just like what she did in the viral BBC video. Watch.What other parents are reading
If you're wondering if the family knows about the series, you'll be glad to know that they do and they loved it. Professor Kelly and wife Jung-a Kim loved the idea so much they have given the project their full blessing to move forward with the video, and any subsequent episodes that may follow.
"I thought it was so cute. My wife and I both laughed. They made me look suitably dorky," said Kelly via a press release.
We believe thank-yous are in order. Send those to creators Lauren Martin and Jarryd Mandy who came up with the idea after watching the interview a hundred times. Instead of writing a children’s book depicting the life of the beloved family, they decided to make it into an animated show with the help of the RAXO creative team.We can't wait for the next episodes!
